This year, Centre for Civil Society (CCS) has featured in the list of top-50 global think tanks outside of the US. Ranked 34th, CCS is the only Indian think tank to make it to this list of top 50 non-US think tanks. In addition, it also features among the Top 30 think tanks in Asia from among 1198 nominated from the continent.
CCS was included in the top 50 in the world based on several criteria such as efforts in a particular area leading to significant changes in quality of life, academic, political and media reputation, usefulness of information produced in advocacy work and to policy makers, ability to produce new knowledge or alternative ideas on policy, ability to bridge the gap between academic and policy communities and policymakers and the public. CCS takes a multi-sector, multi-disciplinary approach, spanning research and analysis, policy reform, proofs of concept, and advocacy in education, livelihoods, governance, and rule of law. This is the third year in a row that CCS features on these rankings, a remarkable testament to the power of ideas.
