Centre for Civil Society is serving a vital role in facilitating India's movement from a centralized economy to a free private enterprise economy. Its numerous seminars and publications spread understanding... Its imaginative projects are guiding and affecting policy. ~Milton Friedman
Milton Friedman was a dear friend and advisor to CCS and his ideas provide the starting point for much of our work. To commemorate his contributions to the world, we are making available some of his work relating to India dating from the 1950s and 1960s. These papers were first published in 2000.
Milton Friedman's contribution to economics and public policy debate, is perhaps unparalleled in the second half of the 20th century. His penchant for debate and hard facts has raised the bar of pubic debate. Though Friedman is no more, our only wish is that the freedom he so strongly believed in will live forever.
