JOB PROFILE

I. IT & WEB Administrator

Qualifications & Skills
  • Graduate with additional Degree/Diploma in IT.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills in English.
  • Excellent attention to details.
  • Knowledge in Web Designing (HTML & Photoshop necessary, ASP, PHP & Flash preferred).
  • Proficient in Linux server administration, Web Administration.

Job Description
  • Manage all CCS websites (www.ccs.in, www.schoolchoice.in www.swaminomics.org; www.gurcharandas.org- regular updates and designing)
  • Manage IT equipment & networking.
  • Ensure proper functioning of Server.
  • Read and analyze web traffic reports and prepare monthly updates.
  • Designing and filing all relevant promotional and print materials like newsletters, brochures, flyers, handouts, pamphlets etc.
  • Overall coordination with prepress and printers, content developers, translators and CCS staff member
Time commitment: Minimum 2 years

Experience: At least 2 years in web page creation and web administration

II. Project Manager, School Voucher Projects

Qualifications & Skills
  • Masters degree in social sciences, management, education, social work or equivalent from a reputed institute.
  • Applicant must possesses plus 5 years of progressively responsible experience in project management activities at the state or the national level covering program planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, particularly research oriented field projects.
  • Orientation to educational policies and policy reforms across India
  • Excellent understanding of the school voucher reforms would be an added advantage.
  • Applicants with prior experience of working/supervising large field projects would be preferred
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on result achievement, people development, teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Prior exposure to conducting research, data compilation and analysis
  • Prior experience of collaborating with national authorities, NGO’s, various academic educational institutions
  • Track record of implementing innovative ideas and schemes in day to day working
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills, with ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Good PR and advocacy skills: government liaisoning, community relations and interacting with researchers
  • Superior English and Hindi communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively

Job Description

  • Managing a team of six people and reporting to the President, the Project Manager would be responsible for management and successful implementation of the voucher projects in India.
  • Overall management of the school voucher pilots including implementation, monitoring and evaluation
  • Recruiting and coordinating field staff across multiple locations in India
  • Interacting with senior state and district level government officials, private and government schools, teachers associations, parents and communities where projects are situated
  • Managing relations with a number of different academics, researchers and consultants
  • Organising and managing field visits by national and international researchers, policy makers, activists and SCC supporters.
  • Representing the program at various regional and national forums

Location
The position will be located in New Delhi, but will involve substantial travel to project locations across India.

Time commitment: Minimum 2 years

III. Senior Research Coordinator

Qualifications & Skills
  • Ph D in economics or public policy with specialization in one of the following: education, governance, livelihood, and environment.
  • Relevant experience in research and leading teams of atleast 5 years.
  • Excellent writing skills for research papers as well as mass publications (please attach writing samples with the application).
  • Keen interest in public policy related research.
  • Proven communication and networking skills.
  • Time commitment: Minimum 3 years.

Job Description

  • An opportunity to head the CCS Research Centre, design research projects in accordance with the objectives of the Centre and undertake them.
  • Supervise research associates and interns.
  • Develop literature for the Campaigns of the Centre, write and publish regular articles, research papers, commentaries, legislative analysis of bills to be tabled in the Parliament.
  • Plan and design dialogues, workshops, conferences on the research outputs.
  • Prepare and deliver lectures at CCS seminars for students, policy makers, professors and general public.
  • Represent CCS at academic and policy for an identify and plan for research needs,
  • Lead the research team, coordinate the fellowship program.

IV. Senior Publications/Editorial & Marketing Associate

Qualifications & Skills
  • College degree in social sciences, with diploma or degree in the editing or publishing field
  • Excellent written command of English and one other Indian language
  • Excellent knowledge of publication software like PageMaker, Photoshop
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience
  • Time commitment: Minimum 2 years

Job Description

  • An opportunity to lead quality production and effective distribution of all CCS publications.
  • Plan publications for the year (books, policy reviews, monographs, research papers, internship papers, annual report).
  • Coordination of making of the publication from manuscript, editing, to production (print and online)
  • Design and execution of marketing plan for all publications
  • Provide editorial and design support to team members.

V. Executive Assistant

Qualifications & Skills
  • Graduate/post graduate with minimum 2-3 years of similar experience.
  • Proficient in English (verbal and written).
  • Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Innovative and creative in the form of continuous improvement to internal processes.
  • Possesses strong ability for multitasking.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of Outlook (for managing schedules, email, etc.) is a must.


Job Description

  • Perform a wide variety of executive secretarial and administrative duties as required by daily operations.
  • Schedule and organize complex activities such as meetings, travels and department activities for the President.
  • Create and develop visual presentations.
  • Manage front desk. Organize and prioritize large volumes of information and calls.
  • Sort and distribute mail. Open mail for them and determine level of priority.
  • Answer phones. Takes messages or field/answer all routine and non-routine questions.
  • Assist with schedules.
  • Handle confidential and non-routine information.
  • Work independently and within a team on special and nonrecurring and ongoing projects.
  • Type and design general correspondences, memos, charts, tables, graphs, business plans, etc.
  • Source, extract and compile information from secondary sources (web, news paper, books, etc) as and when required.

VI. Publications & Communications Associate

Qualifications & Skills
  • Graduate with a diploma/degree in translation training programs.
  • 2-5 years of experience in English to Hindi (and vice versa) translation trough working in depth in a translator project.
  • Excellent communication skills (both English and Hindi)
  • Comfortable using a computer and familiar with the software available for translators.


Job Description

  • Website content creation, update and translation.
  • Content development of all relevant promotional and print materials in Hindi like newsletters, brochures, flyers, handouts, pamphlets etc.
  • Translation of letters, proposals, case studies, research papers, newspaper articles.
  • Maintain house style, check grammar and edit text.
  • Provide various departments with training, guidance, encouragement, and technical help on translation-related issues, and to monitor translation quality, making recommendations for publication.
  • Monitor translation quality and make possible recommendations.
  • Work directly under the Manager- PR and Communication and assist in all related work of the department.


VII. Senior Campaign Associate: Political Advocacy

As a member of the Campaign's senior leadership team, the Sr. Campaign Associate - Political Advocacy will assume full ownership of the Campaign's Political Advocacy goals to reach out to elected representatives at various levels of government regarding school choice reforms.

Qualifications & Skills

  • MBA/ MSW/ MA with about 5 years in advocacy or government liaison work, preferably in education sector
  • Interest, ability and experience in identifying, contacting high government officials and ministers and making presentations independently
  • Understanding and passion about education reforms and school choice ideas.
  • Flexibility in managing extensive travel across campaign states
  • Knowledge of advocacy, customer relations, outreach, strategic communication and contacts in state governments will be an advantage.
  • Background or experience in the fields of governance or legislative change is desirable, but not mandatory.


Job Description

  • Developing strategies for political advocacy in campaign states and executing them with the help of campaign associates.
  • In some of these states, align the political advocacy with the ongoing mass mobilization done by partners NGOs.
  • Convince bureaucrats, politicians, community leaders and other decision makers through direct meetings, small seminars, and press conferences about school vouchers and get approval for government funded voucher pilot projects.
  • Influencing state governments to approve pilot projects for private management of state run schools


VIII. State Campaign Associate: Political Advocacy

Reporting to the Sr. Campaign Associate - Political Advocacy, the State Campaign Associate will take ownership of the Campaign's Political Advocacy goals in three states in India to reach out to elected representatives at various levels of government regarding school choice reforms. The position will require simultaneous work across three states and will require frequent traveling and maybe short term stay at each of the three states depending on volume of work.

Qualifications & Skills

  • MA/MSW with 2-3 years in educational advocacy, working with state governments
  • Interest, ability and experience in identifying, contacting high government officials and ministers and making presentations independently
  • Understanding and passion about education reforms and school choice ideas.
